Real Madrid and Barcelona are known to be eternal rivals when it comes to football and in recent years they’ve both been finding it hard top sell players between themselves as they prefer to hunt for their former players. A player who have interest the Los Blancos is Josep Martinez, the Spaniard is a goalkeeper who is here to stay.
The Las Palmas youngster and former youth product in Barcelona’s famous La Masia academy has earned himself in coach Pepe Mel’s first team after regular keeper Raul Fernandez picked up an injury three weeks ago. Big things are expected of Martinez and he is already attracting attention from some of the biggest clubs in world football.
Real Madrid are one of the clubs who are said to be seriously keeping tabs on the player and have reportedly expressed their interest in bringing the 20-year old to the club. Martinez is still under contract with Las Palmas until 30 June 2020. Las Palmas are trying not to pay too much attention to all of the transfer talk surrounding their young goalkeeper as they clearly see a future for him at the club and are hoping to tie him down to a long-term deal.
“He still has a year left on his contract and we are waiting to hear from the club regarding a renewal,” the player’s agent Vicente Rua said.
He has featured in two second division matches this season and has conceded three goals. For the youth team, he has played 30 times and has kept 14 clean sheets.
In the other news, It has been reported that there is no agreement already in place to take Luka Jovic from Eintracht Frankfurt to Real Madrid this summer. The Serbian has impressed in the Bundesliga and Europa League this season, leading to speculation surrounding his future.
Yet nothing has been decided, despite Los Blancos’ interest. This statement by the Frankfurt’s Sporting Director has countered every form of reports that said the former Benfica man has agreed to join the Los Blancos in the summer.
“There has been no contact with Real Madrid,” said Eintracht’s sporting director Fredi Bobic to ESPN. “It’s not a lie, we really haven’t contacted each other yet. “I know them very well.”
MARCA already revealed that Real Madrid have already settled on Jovic as being the new No.9 they want this summer, but Paris Saint-Germain are also interested. Jovic is expected to cost about 70 million euros, or at least that was thought to be the case before PSG joined the pursuit. Real Madrid’s relationship with the German club could help in any negotiations.
